Open-world action-adventure game on Android
Created by Rockstar North and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the seventh installment in the Grand Theft Auto series. Released in 2004 on Playstation 2, PC, and Xbox, the game was later ported to various mobile platforms such as iOS, Fire OS, Windows Mobile, and Android.
Content stays the same
When games are ported to mobile, much of the content is cut from the game to optimize it better. This isn’t the case here, however. The game’s content stays the same, with only a few minor changes to graphics to better suit mobile phones.
Easy controls
As presented on your touchscreen, the size and layout of the D-pad are adjustable in the main menu. All of the controls are displayed on your screen with no extra fuss, making for easy and smooth gameplay. The app has also implemented the ability to connect to select Bluetooth and USB gamepads.
Clean graphics
While the game’s graphics may be a bit dated, nothing much has changed when it was ported to mobile. The graphics are still clean, with nothing removed or downgraded for the port. Character models are more smooth, with enhancements made to lighting and color palette, specifically created for Android.
Our take
GTA: San Andreas is considered a masterpiece for multiple reasons, including the interesting story and hectic gameplay. While many companies go out of their way to create watered-down versions for mobile platforms, Rockstar didn't slack in this department. San Andreas is just as fun on mobile as it would be on your console or computer. There are many settings specifically implemented for Android while still keeping the game’s content the same.
Should you download it?
Yes. If you're a fan of Grand Theft Auto, this game will be to your liking. If you’re on the go with no access to your gaming consoles, this is an ideal version for you. With a small price and a download size of 2.5 GB, there’s not much in the way of you enjoying this game. You can also try GTA V on Windows for the latest experience.
